A New Admissions Test!
The Chicago Public Schools have shifted away from the previously used HSAT and are now using the PreACT 9 as their admissions test
What to expect from this change:

| The CPS HSAT lasted one hour | The PreACT 9 will last approximately two and a half hours |
| The CPS HSAT had two sections: Math (30 minutes) and Reading (30 minutes). | The PreACT 9 will include 4 sections total: ELA (35 minutes), Reading (40 minutes), math (45 minutes), and science (35 minutes). |
| The CSP HSAT had been available in multiple languages | The PreACT 9 will only be available in english |
